Town & Country maintenance annex, salt facility project moves forward | West County News

The Town & Country Board of Aldermen unanimously approved two bills on May 26 concerning the public works maintenance annex and salt facility project.

The first bill authorizes a $174,000 agreement with Navigate Building Solutions to provide construction and post-construction consulting services. The work is scheduled to start in June 2026 and conclude in May 2027.

According to City Administrator Bob Shelton, Navigate will function as the owner’s representative, monitoring the general contractor to ensure adherence to schedule and budget requirements.

The second bill grants approval for a $2.2 million contract with LCS LLC to serve as the general contractor. The project timeline spans 304 days to account for potential weather delays. LCS will manage all construction activities for both the salt storage facility renovation and the new maintenance annex.

The upgraded salt facility will feature a break area for snow plow operators, a space for operational meetings, and a police substation for officers serving the west side of town. The new public works maintenance annex will include two offices, a break room, a workshop, three truck bays, and a wash bay.

Mayor Charles Rehm stated that this project will significantly improve efficiency across the city’s infrastructure operations.
