2. Using ‘Audible App’ and Audible On The Web, to ‘Share an Audible Book’ with a Friend (for free!)
Lets go over how you can share an Audible book, by using either the Audible App, or Audible on the web.
With this technique, you will be able to share every book that you can own in your Audible library. But sharing is only possible with ONLY one friend!.
It’s easy and free to achieve that from the audible app | audible on the web.
(But what if NEED to share with more than one friend? — then go to Option 1: Epubor Audible Converter — which allows you to share audible books without any restriction)
2.1. Send This Book Via Audible App
Thanks to the “Send this book” functionality of the Audible App.
To share an audible book with a friend, with this method, all you have to do is just open the audible app
Navigate to “My Library” – which is usually at the bottom of the screen
All your books are listed in the library — so find the audible book which you would like to share.
Now notice the 3 dot “…” on the right hand side of the book title.
Simply tap the 3 dot “…“
One of the options that pops out there is “Send this Book”
Send all you have to do is to choose how you want to share the audible book
currently it’s only possible to share via Email, SMS, and WhatsApp–which is an amazing functionality.
You can see its pretty easy right?
Okay lets go to the next option — which sharing audible book using Audible on the web functionality.
2.2. Send This Book Via Audible On The Web
The first thing you need to do is to log in, into your Audible’s account on the web.
Then proceed to the Library, and click My Book.
Secondly, you need to open an Audible book from your library, and select Send this Book.
The third option, is to provide essential information to fill the Send this Book form — provide the email address of the recipient.
Next its time to Send — by tapping the Send button.
The sharing of Audible books through the Audible App and Audible on the Web are really simple and straightforward.
However the restrictions with the methods is that you can only share Audible book with a friend — just once. Infact no one can share an Audible book with them again on the platform.
2.3. Are there any catches?
As we’ve mentioned above, there is a minor catch with this option.
Here is it — it is only possible to share an Audible book with an individual person once — and another Audible user cannot share an Audible book again with a user, who has received a shared Audible book. That’s a truly strategic.
Here’s the illustration.
So if you send Mansfield Park to Henry, He’ll get a free copy of it, but you can’t send him any more free Audible books. And he can’t receive a free one from any other friends.
Its kinda of a trade secret for the Audible company.
However, if you need to share an Audible book with more than one person — and without any restriction–then I would immediately recommend Option 1: Epubor Audible Converter
3. Amazon Household Sharing | How to Share an Audible Book with a Friend (for free!)
Sharing an Audible book is also possible–by leveraging Amazon Household. The Amazon Household is an Amazon feature that enables you to share your Amazon|Audible content. Not only your contents–it enables you also to share your payment methods with another Amazon account user. Amazon Household is secure.
The concept of this initiative is to enable sharing with someone–(assumed equivalent to yourself). So its up to you, who share with. Amazon Household maintains your own account’s security and privacy.
So follow the steps below to learn how to share your Audible books–using Amazon Household method.
3.1. Create a Household
First things first–for you to use Family Library as a means of sharing your Amazon contents with a 3rd party adult within your household–you must join Amazon Household together.
Members consisting of Amazon Household includes:
- Two adults–each with their individual Amazon account.
- Children–(not more than four children): keep in mind that Child profiles are been created as part of the adult’s account.
Follow these steps below to immediately create your Amazon Household profile:
1. Navigate to manage ‘Your Content and Devices’ (I found my ‘Your Content and Devices’ under my ‘Account & List’).
Sign in to your account from there (if not already signed in)
2. Next navigate to ‘Preferences’ tab, and select ‘Households and Family Library’. tap Learn more, and you would arrive at the official Homepage of Amazon Household.
From the Homepage select ‘Add Adult’, and fill in the form to add desired adult.
3. Next step is to have the other adult sign in to his/her own Amazon account.
Please Note: You could only share an Amazon account with 1 person account per time (at a given time)
And if a person exits the Household account, the person must wait for six months–inorder to join a new Amazon Household.
(Lets proceed to next step of sharing your Audible book, leveraging Amazon Household method).
3.2. Share Your Content (Share Books on Audible with Family)
Its time to share.
Sharing is made possible after when you’ve set-up your Amazon Household, and enabled Family Library.
At that point, you can choose to share Kindle books, Apps and Games, and your Audiobooks from ‘Family Library’.
Now your mutual contents would be shared with each other.
3.3. Access Shared Content on Your Device or App
After setting up the ‘Family Library’, the other adult and you–would be able to see mutually shared Kindle items–including audiobooks, apps, books. Thanks to the the platforms Cloud storage.
You can see the ‘Family Library’ items on Amazon compatible devices,–including Kindle reading apps, which are registered to your Amazon accounts.
(Please note: As a troubleshooting step, you may need to enable your device ability to access the shared contents. Do this from manage ‘Your Content and Devices’ or the ‘Family Library’ settings on a compatible device)
Before proceeding to Share an Audible book with the Amazon Household method–remember that its recommended that you share this privilege with someone equivalent to a family member. For example, such method may not be ideal for a book club member you’d just met. I hope you catch my point.
Plus you can only share Audible books with 1 adult (plus yourself)–making two. Sharing is also possible between Teens, and Children.
But if for whatever reason–you need to share an Audible book with more than one adult (book club! etc) then without any hesitation, I would recommend Option 1: Epubor Audible Converter.
Download the Epubor Audible Converter–and launch it. (Available on 30 days free trial: Windows OS, and MAC)
Having learned about the methods to share audible books. Next time when you’re listening to that a favorite | interesting book, remember it’s really easy to share an Audible book. And trust me, everyone who enjoys saving time–by listening to audio books–rather than reading and skimming through, would thank you for sharing your audio book.
So what is your goal of sharing an Audible book?
If your goal is to share with one person, i hope you know which of the three audible book sharing methods suits you the most. (The Audible App, and Audible on Web option would be recommended).
And on extreme other side–if your goal is to share an Audible book with more than one person, anytime, repeatedly–without restrictions, and without worrying about privacy compromises–then Option 1: Epubor Audible Converter would be the recommended.
The Audible converter is the best tool to share Audible books with friends without any restrictions.
Audible app method permits you to share ONLY one free audible books with your friends.
With Amazon Household sharing, you can share your digital contents with ONLY one adult friend at a given time.
And if a member exit’s the Household, the person would have to wait six months to join a new one.
So those are their limitations.
But on that Audible converter option, it enables you to convert the audible book’s format, and as well strip its DRM–so that you could listen to all your audible books anywhere and share them with as many of your friends as possible–no limitations to your ability to share an Audible book.
Go ahead–choose based on your sharing goal.
